Cascade System Cylinder Testing
We routinely recertify storage cylinders (commonly referred to as “cascade cylinders”) on-site. These cylinders are usually about 52 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter. They are typically used in the station near the air compressor to store high pressure compressed air. They may also be and in trucks or trailers used for refilling SCBA cylinders during a fire and are also used on ladder trucks.
The benefit of hydrostatically testing these cylinders on-site is realized as the vehicles are back in service in a few hours instead of a few weeks.
